Circles All Around (Bubbles)
Circles are intuitive forms. They come very naturally to all of us. At first, the memories that came to me when I was designing this piece were playful images from my childhood: soap bubbles, hula hoops, the “Cirandas” I used to play , dancing in circles with my friends and family in Brazil. Then I started thinking about all the meanings a circle can hold, and my mind was flooded with new thoughts. Circles represent the self, infinity, wholeness, eternity. They are movement, vitality, equality, and protection. It fascinates me that you can find so many beautiful concepts in one very simple curved line. I read once that the meaning of shapes and symbols come to us when we are ready to listen and learn. I hope you can find your own beautiful meaning in these circles, and that, as time passes, you find more and more, just as I have.
