Ballerina Ring

The Ballerina Ring is a special project that belongs to my Círculos Collection. I wanted to bring some “real” movement to a few pieces. My talented Model Maker / CAD Designer Yanni Andrikopoulos developed the mechanism used in this ring. The stones are set in a tiny pendulum that allows the ruby and diamonds to move as one piece from one side to the other, inside the circle. When my very good friend and talented photographer Paula Lobo (@paulalobo) saw the pendulum, she immediately exclaimed “it’s a ballerina!” I loved how she was able to see it that way instantly and to describe it using only one word. Sometimes I use lots of words to try to explain a simple thing, as you might have noticed. In any case, when I was young, I wanted to be a ballerina - or at least take ballet lessons. But there were no ballet schools in my small town. I took modern dance and jazz instead. It’s so nice to express one of my childhood dreams through this 18k white gold and gemstone piece.
